To implement, control and manage the strategic sourcing process of the Vehicle and ULD Fleet plus Cargo Services Commodity (i.e. a complex Logistics centred commodity). Undertake international and local sourcing and developing BBBEE suppliers. To lead cross functional sourcing teams to operate effectively and to ensure the efficient execution of commodity specific sourcing strategies. To proactively reduce the Total Cost of Ownership and to negotiate cost reducing long term supply and services agreements with vendors. Total procurement spend managed equals R 80 million per annum.
Procurement of all non-aircraft spares, tooling and equipment at the optimum economical level to ensure that the same are available timeously to give effect to maintenance on all South African Airways aircraft fleet and any third party aircraft which are contractually bound to South African Airways, adhering to all regulatory authorities, quality and documentation requirements as per the Work Instructions Manual.
