I lead AWS global programs to support AWS partners, especially small and minority-owned companies, to develop cloud-based smart cities solutions and grow their cloud business with AWS. Recruited through the Young Professionals Program, I managed a $750 million portfolio of urban infrastructure investments and TA to help build competitive, sustainable and inclusive smart cities in Asia. In this capacity, I led the processing and supervision of multisectoral urban development projects in China and Mongolia, with focus in bringing innovations to traditional infrastructure projects. I spent one year focusing on transaction advisory services for PPP projects on urban infrastructure (solid waste, water supply and wastewater) in Vietnam, Philippines, and Kazakhstan. Within this year, my team closed a PPP transaction for water & wastewater utility for New Clark City (Philippines) with a record-low water tariff of P9.5/m3.
• Co-led/Supported (as Co-TTL or team member) the preparation and supervision of numerous city-wide multi-sector urban infrastructure lending operations (between $200-500 million) to improve urban infrastructure services and urban governance in a range of cities in Asia and Africa (from 30,000 to 10 million inhabitants). • Co-led (as TTL or Co-TTL) key analytical studies on urban governance and urban infrastructures to identify key problems and prioritize cutting-edge, environmentally friendly solutions towards sustainable development and enhanced competitiveness for key cities in Vietnam, such as Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
• Designed, developed, and co-managed a Program on Managing Transition through Results-based Leadership in Burundi and DR Congo, which aimed to build capacity for a cadre of African trainers, coaches, and institutions to support governments of selected fragile states to deliver development results using the Rapid Results Approach. • Designed, developed, and implemented a capacity building program (Global Youth Anti-Corruption Project - www.voices-against-corruption.org) for a coalition of youth-led anti-corruption organizations to share best practices on anti-corruption through innovative means and social media.
