I've been working mostly as a Frontend developer, but I've also done a fair share of UX design. Aon wanted to create a new user-friendly Customer Self Service platform that can be used on all devices/platforms. I was responsible for choosing the most suitable framework & building the frontend and decided to go with Vuejs. Years later we've more sites to the Vue-stack. I've delivered lots of frontend components and styling and also took on the role of Scrummaster and UX designer. Currently Aon is updating their stack and incorporating a lot more Vue. At the moment I'm refactoring components for our Students website where I focus on simplifying them and replacing our in-house css framework with TailwindCSS. For our complex Marine application I'm currently writing Cypress tests. We recently moved our repos to Azure (updated Sept 2024)
Website to promote the works of the late actor/comedian Robin Williams. Used to organize offline meetings for fans every once in a while too. The last meetings were on April 1st & 2nd, 2011 in NYC to see Robin in "Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo". I've also done meetups with Robin & fans in Berlin, London, San Francisco, CA, Philadelphia, PA and Las Vegas, NV. For this website I did everything (design, development, social media, newsletters, answering email, handling all requests etc.) and it's been an absolute honor to have worked with and for this guy. Still working with his manangent every once in a while for various projects. I've not been working on the website for years, but am keeping it online as it's still a great resource to visit.
Focussing on expanding my Frontend Development skills. Currently working at Aon, on a very diverse project where I'm doing mainly frontend work, but also visual/UX design. Doing lots of work with Vuejs and newest CSS specs and technology like CSS Grid, Sass, Less etc. Previously set up a new frontend platform with automated less compiling and minifying through Gulp. Also worked on platforms with Angular based on Java and .NET.
At the end of each year I do several (final) assessment sessions with students who've earned enough credits to pass to the next year. The assessments are always done with 1 student and 2 assessors and I consider this true quality time where you get to know the student and see their work. What I love most is that I get to give students advice on how they can improve or which subjects they should focus on, and at the same time learn from them.
Voogd & Voogd has created an app for their partners' customers so they can review, add, change or stop their insurance policies. Reporting damage can also be done through the app. I've worked in a Scrum environment and delivered interaction- and visual designs for the upcoming sprint and html-templates for the ongoing sprint. Other tasks I've taken on are designing and building email templates, create test flows in Visio, perform tests, design a new concept for the back office system and design and build a new recruitment site for Voogd & Voogd.
