Continuous improvement is my passion. Through my experiences as an engineer, a lean six sigma black belt, a manager and supervisor of multiple departments, I've constantly pushed to make good changes in my work and to influence those around me to embrace a more positive outlook on change.
Leading a team of 9 engineers and 2 engineering technicians in safety improvements, CAPA investigations, production line support, new material and component validations, process validations, equipment support, efficiency projects, line expansion and layout, regulatory/industry changes and career development.
• Supported component validation activities for flux, grease, and washers driven by COVID-19 supply chain interruptions. Implemented BOM and drawing changes in the quality document control system. Ran Engineering Builds in production to complete T=AA and T=RT studies. • Provided direct line support for the ViewFlex diagnostic catheter product line, including addressing quality issues with raw material components and product defects. • Prioritized work, escalated concerns, and drove accountability in the manufacturing engineering team of 8 in the absence of the Engineering Manager. • Developed a skills matrix for the engineering team to identify and propose risk mitigations. • Mentored the engineering team in various aspects including both hard and soft skills. • Created a Knowledge Share series to accelerate team growth and encourage collaboration. • Recognized and rewarded members in situations where cross-functional groups came together to overcome unexpected challenges.
Managed 5 direct employees and 16 indirect employees in production, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, quality control, research and development, warehousing, inventory, logistics, maintenance, purchasing and safety. • Implemented a quarterly bonus program. • Motivated and coached department managers. • Successfully managed and launched a new product line and a new international private label. • Initiated and supervised gap closure on quality tasks. • Improved production and labor efficiency through implementation of lean and six sigma tools. • Reduced setup and changeover time. • Reduced process scrap and increased run time through strategic implementation of tooling.

Lean and Six Sigma • Reduced machine changeover time. • Identified and corrected improper tooling usage. • Championed 5S practices across multiple departments. • Trained 80+ machine operators, engineers, and management on lean concepts. • Built rapport with people at all levels, resulting in support for improvements in the shop.
•Collaborated with a partner to grow and characterize novel InPxAs1-x nanowires. •Studied time and temperature dependent coarsening of synthesized CdSe nanoparticles.
