Responsibility for the management of the complete sales force of 200, including discipline and general personal development. Management of the training department, where we train in excess of 5,000 each year both Retailer staff and our own. Management of the Visual Merchandising Department, and in July 07 additional responsibilities as Chairman of the Global Visual Merchandising committee. To set strategic business objectives and to prepare reviews and appraisals based on those objectives. To develop and encourage excellent working relationships with key retailers ensuring accurate communication of the business plan through the sales team both at National account level and the Field sales force. Work closely with key marketing and finance team members bringing the sales perspective to the table and ensuring the communication of the combined strategic objectives throughout the sales team. Prepare and present Sales meetings and Conferences in accordance with the Company strategy and style. Prepare and evaluate budgets, targets and expenditure levels in line with objectives. Major achievements Doubled the business in two years vs. the plan of 3 years. Generated profits of 22% of net sales vs. 0% when I joined, this involved management of a restructure program, and strategic long term planning. As one of the fastest growing fragrance houses in the UK have moved ranking from 8 to 1 in the market.
Set up the Flagship division within P&G Prestige Beaute, to develop opinion-forming stores, Harrods, Selfridges & House of Fraser. Launched major initiatives as 'Best in Class' including SK11 where I was instrumental in setting it up in the UK for both Sales & Marketing. Major achievements Launched Herve Leger in Harrods as N01 Female Fragrance in 2000, and in August 2002 Baldessarini as Harrods N01 Male fragrance. Developed and Implemented Marketing program to support this. Negotiated one of the first permanent builds in Harrods for Hugo Boss & Helmut Lang. Launched Helmut Lang as 'Best in Class' at Selfridges, including 22 windows, and 6 sites. In 2 years I trebled the business in both Harrods & Selfridges and doubled the business in House of Fraser.
Responsibilities included working plans to 'Double the business' BY 2005, through management of eight Regional Account Managers on retail/wholesale targets. Provided consultation to management, liased with the Training dept to provide four successful fragrance launch presentations to management team and consultants, worked with brand to develop competitive promotional programmes. Working closely with Sales & Marketing, distribution centre and National Accounts to ensure customers received appropriate service on shipments. Additional responsibilities included, National Account Manager for major Department stores in UK working closely with all Buyers and Senior Store Management. Major achievements; Successfully restructured Sales force, making savings in excess of £500,000 in the first year, with minimal impact on the business. Negotiated salary cost share for consultants with major retailers making savings of £270,000
