An experienced administrator of many years experience, I have excellent IT skills, I'm really good with people, and I bring a positive energy to any workplace. My proofreading and attention to detail veers to the pedantic. I have been writing and maintaining websites since the mid 1990s, and remain as fascinated and driven by the technology now as I was then. Social media too, since they've been around. I am committed to the task in hand, and will tackle pretty much anything thrown at me with good humour and an insatiable desire to do a good job. I am a keen volunteer in the Arts, particularly the field of amateur theatre, both directing for prize-winning youth theatre groups, and actively supporting the structure for amateur theatre at a local and national level. And running their websites/social media presence.
I write content for Unilife, the student facing website at the University of South Wales. I also create content for related social media channels.
I supervised the reception desk for Student Services at the University. This involved the day to day management of up to 3 staff, as well as co-ordinating cover for responding to appointment booking and other queries, in person, by online booking and by phone. I oversaw the technical queries by users about the appointment booking software, ensuring the data stored was up to date, creating reports and analysing the data on appointment booking, attendance etc. The role involved being a front-facing representative for services including Counselling, Mental wellbeing and Disability/Dyslexia support etc. so required a facility for high-level listening and empathetic skills, as well as tact and discretion.
