As far as IT skills go, you may expect: - At least Comptia A+ level knowledge (not certified) - Writing/debugging code in multiple languages and contexts (C/C++, SQL, variations of basic, Fortran, ...) - Running my own home server and experimenting with virtualization, Docker, self-hosting, S3-style cloud backup,... - Currently getting to know Python and VS Code.
Installing, maintaining, qualifying and troubleshooting of Waters instruments. Main focus is the Xevo line of mass spectrometers, both TQ and Q-TOF instruments.
Binocs is an SaaS tool to manage scheduling and planning in lab-like environments. When a sample needs to be analyzed, this job needs to be assigned to the right person and the right equipment, requiring a dual schedule. It was my job to transform my customers needs and data into a fully functioning Binocs environment. Internally I also helped out with QC testing for upcoming Binocs releases and by documenting/debugging/writing fairly complex SQL queries, mainly used for Binocs' reporting functionality.
Taking the lead on and executing small and medium sized software installation, migration and qualification projects centered on Waters software in network environments (Empower and Unifi). Serving as a local contact for international projects. Providing on-site and remote support to external and internal customers. Configuring instruments (including third party) for communication with Empower and Unifi. Providing application support for Empower. Advising customers on disaster recovery and data integrity. Coaching and training colleagues.

(Now Toyo Ink Europe) Starting, developing and running of a small UPLC-MS/MS lab for the analysis of extractables and leachables in UV-curing printing inks. Expanding it with GC-MS. Developing and executing of methods of analysis and fitting these into the ISO 9001 QMS. Coordinator of the first intervention team. First aid provider.
