My name is Liam and I’m an aerospace engineer! My main area of focus is software relating to satellites. I work at Lockheed Martin as a Systems Engineer. I have experience in MATLAB, Python, C++, Java, and SolidWorks. I have taken classes in Orbital Mechanics, Strategy and Arms Control, Systems Engineering, Controls, Entry Descent and Landing, and Object Oriented Programming. When I’m not working, you can usually find me outside. I love nature and especially love climbing the great 14ers of Colorado!
I worked on several high visibility projects of which I was given broad responsibility and ownership. I analyzed simulation runtime and presented the results to the stakeholders. I developed a Python script to help diagnose code bugs. I also trained other interns and full time employees on the various simulators and tools.
I helped develop and support simulations for a satellite constellation. I worked with STK and MATLAB to automate satellite plotting. I utilized languages such as C++ and Matlab and worked with third parties to help improve and deploy these simulations.
I worked in an agile scrum environment. I developed and maintained software tools using languages such as Perl. In addition, I supported the mechanisms program and helped design a deployable truss during a stretch assignment.
I utilized Java and object oriented programming concepts to upgrade a tool with clear case dependencies to GIT. I was given ownership of this project and as such had to learn how to communicate with more experienced team members when I needed help.
I tutored students enrolled in the Georgia Tech Excel program in the subject of History.
