Li is a Vice President at Raine. At Raine, Li leads the firm's digital and interactive gaming business in China, working with both Western digital media and gaming companies on their China strategy (capital raises, market entry strategies, partnership structuring and publishing/commercial negotiations) as well as Chinese leading media and gaming companies on their overseas expansion, investments and M&A objectives. Sub-sector focus includes PC, web and mobile games, VR, and eSports, and in broader media digital advertising, live entertainment, digital music, and TV/film content. Previous Western clients include Playtika, Grindr, Jagex, Codemasters, Hasbro, Zynga, Kabam, Scopely, Super Evil Mega Corp, Space Ape Games, Kongregate, IMAX and others. Previous Chinese clients include Tencent, Netease, Wanda, Giant Interactive, Baidu, Qihoo, Xiaomi, Kunlun, Ourpalm and other strategic and financial parties throughout the Chinese digital and gaming value chain. Notable cross-border M&A deals Li has worked on include $4.5bn sale of Playtika to Giant Interactive, $155mm sale of Grindr to Kunlun Technologies, $80mm private placement advisory for the carve-out of IMAX China, and $420mm sale of PPTV to Suning Electronics. Prior Raine, Li worked as a Senior Analyst at ChinaEquity, a Beijing-based VC fund and before that as an Analyst at Lehman Brothers' Tech M&A Group in Menlo Park, California.
