AI Strategist and Innovation Leader | Turning data and AI into measurable business outcomes

About

I am an AI leader focused on turning the promise of artificial intelligence into real business results. My work is about closing the gap between hype and ROI: shaping strategy, building products, and bringing AI solutions into production with measurable impact. I bring nearly 20 years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics. I hold graduate degrees from the University of Tokyo, where I built a strong foundation in AI, robotics, and IoT, along with an applied research track that includes published work in complex scientific domains. I am fluent in Spanish, English, and Japanese, and I have built my career at the intersection of data science, business strategy, and execution. I currently serve as Director of the AI Innovation Lab at GBM, where I lead the strategy and implementation of AI solutions for the financial industry. My work includes large-scale personalization initiatives, recommendation engines, experimentation with generative models, and the development of products that improve how investors interact with their finances. Before GBM, I worked across healthcare, banking, retail, telecommunications, and media. At Novartis, I helped drive AI solutions aimed at improving clinical decision-making and generating strategic insights from complex data. At Grupo Salinas, Banorte, and other organizations, I led the design and deployment of AI models for fraud detection, customer segmentation, risk management, personalization, and applied innovation on platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud. What defines my approach is simple: AI should not remain stuck in demos, endless pilots, or futuristic narratives. It should become a strategic capability that drives growth, efficiency, better decisions, and new business opportunities. That is the kind of AI I care about building.

As a support to the presidency, one of my responsibilities is to organize linkage events between scholarship recipients and those interested in obtaining a scholarship to study in Japan. These events aim to provide information about study opportunities in Japan, the requirements to apply for a scholarship, as well as the experiences of former scholarship recipients. They are also an opportunity for interested parties to interact with scholarship recipients and clarify any doubts they may have. Another one of my roles is to coordinate business linkages with former scholarship recipients, in order to promote industrial ties between Mexico and Japan. This linkage is of great importance, as it allows for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between former scholarship recipients and companies, which in turn contributes to strengthening the commercial relationship between both countries.
