I’m a research‑focused professional who thrives at the intersection of knowledge creation, collaboration, and impact. My career has taken me through environments where rigorous analysis, clear communication, and strategic coordination are essential - whether supporting complex research programmes, shaping academic outputs, or enabling partnerships across disciplines, sectors, and geographies. With a background that spans academic research, publishing, and research management, I’ve developed a strong ability to translate ideas into action. I’m comfortable navigating both the detail and the bigger picture: from managing information flows and stakeholder relationships to contributing to initiatives that strengthen research ecosystems and support innovation. My academic training, including advanced work in the humanities, has shaped how I think: critically, contextually, and with an eye for nuance. Alongside this, professional certifications in programme management and continuous improvement have strengthened my approach to structured delivery, process optimisation, and evidence‑based decision‑making. Together, they’ve given me a toolkit that blends analytical depth, project coordination, editorial precision, and a collaborative mindset. I’m motivated by work that connects people, ideas, and evidence to create meaningful outcomes. Whether supporting researchers, convening communities, or contributing to strategic initiatives, I bring curiosity, clarity, and a commitment to helping good work happen.

It brings together an ambitious programme of research that involves multiple teams working together developing fundamentally new technologies to treat chronic pain, with a core focus on implantable and non-invasive brain stimulation and modulation systems. I predominantly looked after the Innovation & Research Caucus as part of ESRC's Business Engagement, Innovation and Commercialisation (IBEC) team, supplemented with being the authorised first responder for casework related to Subsidy Control Act 2022 compliance in ESRC's grant awards, and supporting senior leadership with scoping opportunities.
My role focused on the delivery and oversight of programmes funded by the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF), working alongside our Research Funding Team and other colleagues in the Programmes Directorate, other parts of STFC and with our research and stakeholder community in the UK and overseas. I was involved in strategy/policy development, grant delivery, management of information, stakeholder engagement and communications, as well occasional project management (e.g. organising a exhibition of science-based artworks from South Africa at Polaris House in Swindon) and temporary secondments to the CERN and Boulby Underground Laboratory teams.
The Academic Administration Manager plays a key role in the overall management of NDCN’s administrative and academic operations, contributing to the development of strategy, policies and procedures, and is instrumental in maintaining a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders, including the Medical Sciences Division. I was responsible for the administration of the admissions selection procedures for both the pre-clinical Medicine and Biomedical Sciences courses, and for the administration of teaching and assessment for students in Year 3. I worked closely with the Director and Deputy Director of Pre-clinical Studies and the Course Director for Biomedical Sciences on all aspects relating to the two courses.
