• Designed and conducted comprehensive battery characterisation tests based on industry standards such as BS EN 50342-1, SAE J537 and UN 38.3 to benchmark Sodion Energy’s sodium-ion batteries against lead-acid, lithium-ion and other sodium-ion competitors. • Designed, prototyped, and demonstrated a 3.6kWh sodium-ion battery residential energy storage system (ESS) with integrated protection, conversion and control components to optimise savings under time-of-use (TOU) rates, successfully securing initial trial preorders and potential future orders from international investors. • Developed a Python-based simulation tool to assess financial benefits of the ESS by modelling scenarios with and without the ESS, under varying variables such as different TOU structures, prediction duration, load profiles, etc. • Performed functional tests and created user guides, specification sheets, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to support reliable and compliant product launch.
