Co-Founder of @aquí.bcn As an urban practitioner I work in spatial and urban production fostering social transformation towards inclusion, diversity and the common good. Based in Barcelona, my background in circular design and urban planning has led me to approach systemic challenges across the fields of urban planning, fair mobility, accessible housing and community engagement. As Co-founder of aquí my vision is to embody local accelerators of change, enabling regenerative environments. Through the lens of gender and intersectionality, I am enthusiastic about the power of building agency instead of dependency within communities. Upholding an “optimistic grumpiness”, my ambition is to foster resilient networks of care that allow collective world-making and the emergence of planetary well-being.
aquí is a Barcelona-based non-profit association working towards a more sustainable, healthy & just city through social innovation. The aquí-team facilitates participatory urban design processes and contributes to local networks of solidarity. Its actions aim to turn streets and urban spaces into living places and build public space for all.
Together with Vineeta Sheety (Founder-convenor of Placemaking India and Founder of The Smart Citizen), David Brito (Urban Planner and Sustainability Specialist), Lauren Schiff (Experience Designer, Community Builder), Honorata Grzesikowska (Urban Masterplanner, Founder Urbanitarian and JustHood), Nadia Speranza (Art Director, Design Researcher, Educator), Alexandra Medvedeva Korivkina (Urban Parks and Public Space Management) and the aqui team (Clément Rames, Roger Guilemany, Lea Karrasch, Mireia Lozano Carbasse, Fredéric Duhau), we formed the collective Placemaking Barcelona. Our common passion: to use professional skill to co-design integrated solutions for community, social and user-centred matters concerning place. Joining our talents, we hope to lead a strong and unique placemaking practice in the area of Barcelona. Placemaking acts as mediators between governmental entities, stakeholders and communities. We propose community -led solutions with an ethical conscience. We focus on making more sustainable and liveable places, and we co-create with communities in order to enable them to make their own change.
