Higher Education Leader that provides academic and administrative leadership for assigned Career Education and public safety programs. Ensure continuity of operations, instructional quality, and compliance with college, district, and regulatory requirements. Programs Supervised: Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Nutrition, Horticulture, Police Academy, Fire Academy, Emergency Medical Services (EMT), and Paramedic Provide day-to-day administrative and instructional leadership for assigned Career Education and public safety programs, including scheduling, staffing, enrollment management, and instructional delivery. Oversee compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, licensure requirements, and public safety training mandates, including those governing law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services programs. Administer and support Strong Workforce Program and Perkins V–funded activities for assigned programs, ensuring allowable use of funds, documentation, reporting, and alignment with regional labor market needs. Provide oversight of curriculum development, program review, student learning outcomes, and assessment activities, including those required by external accrediting or certifying bodies. Monitor program budgets, grants, facilities, equipment, and instructional resources; Participate in faculty and staff hiring, evaluations, assignments, and personnel actions in accordance with collective bargaining agreements, Title 5, and district policies Serve as the primary administrative liaison for faculty, staff, and external agencies; interpret and apply college policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain records, reports, and documentation required to support compliance audits, grant reporting, accreditation reviews, and public safety oversight.
Major Duties (Temporary, 6-Month Assignment) Under the general direction of the VP of Academic Affairs, provided interim academic and administrative leadership to ensure continuity of operations during a temporary vacancy. Areas Supervised: Auto Technology, Business, Hospitality, Fashion, Graphic Design, Early Childhood Education, Computer Security & Information Systems, Real Estate, Human Services, Police Academy, Fire Academy, Emergency Medical Services (EMT), and Paramedic, Workforce Development, Dual Enrollment, Internships. Major Duties: Direct and coordinate the day-to-day operations of assigned instructional programs and services, including scheduling, staffing, and instructional delivery. Serve as the primary administrative liaison for faculty and staff; interpret and apply college policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable Title 5 regulations. Provide oversight of curriculum, program review, and accreditation-related activities to maintain compliance and continuity. Monitor enrollments, budgets, and resource allocation; identify operational issues and recommend short-term solutions. Participate in personnel-related activities, including hiring processes, evaluations as authorized during the interim assignment. Coordinate with other administrators, department chairs, and shared governance bodies to support institutional priorities. Represent the division in meetings, committees, and college events as assigned. Perform related duties as assigned in support of operations during the Dean vacancy

The Pajaro Valley Unified School District recently voted with unanimous support to develop a non-profit organization devoted to supporting students in our district. Each PVUSD board member has the ability to appoint someone from their trustee area to serve on the board. I will be serving the first term myself as we go through the process of developing by-laws and establishing our non profit status and all of the foundational work required to start this nonprofit. I am honored to be a part of what will hopefully be an organization the thrives for years to come!
Pajaro Valley Prevention and Student Assistance (PVPSA) is a non-profit agency dedicated to providing education, training, counseling, and prevention services to students, families and staff in the Pajaro Valley Unified School district. By helping prevent criminal behavior, gang involvement, truancy, and drug, alcohol and tobacco use, PVPSA improves the quality of life in our community and schools.
