Lazaros is an Electrical Design Engineer working in the power generation industry for the oil and gas sector. With his main con being that he simply doesn't know when to give up, he is currently trying to figure out generator controllers, PLCs and ways to improve his electrical design skills but never being limited to these. He is strong willed, passion driven and always striving to find new things to learn while also adapting to new technologies in an everyday scheme.
Creating wiring diagrams and general arrangement drawings for control panels. Generating the logic and collaborating with the automation engineers for troubleshooting. Ensuring the project specifications are followed (electrical and instrumentation). Instrumentation & Control Integration. Familiar with PLC/DCS/SCADA Systems (Siemens and Schneider) Generating HMI UI through collaboration with the automation engineers. Loop Checking & Commissioning of LV generators (logic, protections, Cause and Effect) Preventive & Corrective Maintenance during and after commissioning. Technical Documentation (Datasheets, I/O Lists, Piping and Instrumentation, Single Line Diagrams). Conducting the FAT procedure (load, vibration, noise and cranking tests) and guiding the client throughout it.
Duties Included but not limited to: • GIS based route planning. • Creating LLD. • Processing data provided by the client to create a draft layout schematic. • Processing digitized data provided in AutoCAD by the field survey team with information about Building/ Home access, critical points, region formation (mountains, slopes, road types etc). • Designing after having taken into full account possible 3rd parties (high voltage, high gas pressure networks). • Making decisions on how the network will be segmented in areas based on how the region is populated. • Ensuring capacity and in charge of possible augmentations for Access Network if needed (post design). • Possible Backbone networks were taken into accounts in the design. • In constant communication with the project managers to ensure the design is understood, precise and implementable. • Generating work orders and BoM.
Duties are as follows but are not limited to: Lighting Design 1. Attending customer meetings to evaluate the existing lighting and suggest solutions. 2. Assimilate data and use them to create simulations within a Computer Aided Design software. 3. Choose the most appropriate solution, suggest them to the sales team. 4. Provide support in the time of need. Integrating Sphere/Laboratory work 1. Technical evaluation of samples sourced from unknown manufacturers. 2. Creating technical reports based on the test results. Technical Writing 3. Collecting the required information from either the purchasing department or directly through communication with the suppliers. 4. Creating technical documents/ datasheets based on the information provided and the ones collected from the technical evaluation with the integrating sphere. Technical Appraisal 1. Searching for manufacturers or products that could perform technically and/ or commercially better. 2. Researching new technologies to assist the management teams with investment.
Duties were as follows but were not limited to: Technical Support 1. To guide with the installation and use of electronic/mechanical equipment either by phone or with the use of software for remote help. 2. To find and troubleshoot any errors caused by the installation or improper use of products or peripherals. 3. To make sure that sub sellers have become familiar with the programming tools and programming process. 4. To solve any issues always following the manufacturer’s guidelines and advice. Assistance with website development/data entry 1. To make sure that the company’s website is functional and free of errors/bugs and if there are any reporting those to the developer. 2. To communicate with selected manufacturers in order to obtain product lists. 3. To configure the product lists with the use of MS EXCEL in a format that can be used and uploaded onto the company’s e-shop. 4. Meet strict deadlines to have the products uploaded and running. Procurement Responsibilities 1. To ensure there is enough stock through constant communication with the warehouse manager. 2. To place the orders with the various manufacturers. 3. To communicate with the financial department so that the orders are paid and shipped on time.
