Contributed to an on-going research project "Effects of tax enforcement on firms: Evidence from randomized audits" (with Kaisa Kotakorpi, Tuomas Matikka and Jarkko Harju) as well as to the report "Modeling labor supply as part of economic policy evaluations" commissioned by the Prime Minister's Office.
My primary duties included working on cases in FCCA’s merger control division and particularly contributing to the quantitative (incl. econometric) analysis conducted during the investigations. I handled the planning of the data requests needed for the authority’s analysis, the implementation of the data analysis and participated in negotiations with the parties. Furthermore, I also played a substantive role in quantitative effects analysis carried out in antitrust proceedings.
I worked on merger inquiry cases as part of the Chief Economist's team. My primary duties consisted of conducting empirical analysis using Stata and Excel, reviewing literature and contributing to discussions about the theoretical and empirical approach, drafting reports summarising the analysis of the FCCA and participating in client meetings and conference calls.
Work consisted of data cleaning, management and descriptive analysis on several large-scale micro-level datasets on firms.
