Hey! I’m Laurens van der Drift, an engineering student, entrepreneur and creator with a strong passion for technology, automotive engineering and digital innovation. I am currently studying Bewegingstechnologie at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, where I focus on applying engineering principles to real-world challenges. My interests range from mechanical design and electronics to software development and product innovation. Alongside my studies, I founded Lunar Customs, a company focused on high-end automotive customization. We specialize in starlight headliners, ambient lighting systems, vehicle interior customization and advanced automotive electronics. My work includes everything from design and engineering to soldering, wiring harness development, vehicle electronics integration and building custom control systems. In addition to automotive engineering, I also develop digital products and infrastructure, including websites, mobile applications (iOS & Android), lighting control systems and integrations with platforms such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Creativity has always been an important part of my career as well. I founded RedShot Productions, where I work on photography, videography, editing and front-end development for various clients and organizations. Throughout my career I have worked in roles ranging from engineering and product development to media production, software development and project management. I enjoy combining technical problem solving with creative thinking to build innovative products and experiences. Als Project Engineer bij T Comm Telematics werk ik mee aan technische projecten binnen telecommunicatie en telematics. Mijn werkzaamheden richten zich op hardware- en softwareontwikkeling, projectrealisatie en het meedenken over praktische technische oplossingen. Met mijn huidige HBO-studie Bewegingstechnologie en mijn eerdere achtergrond binnen HBO Elektrotechniek combineer ik productontwikkeling, elektronica en software. Ik heb ervaring met onder andere CAD, 3D-printen, lasersnijden, lassen, 3D-scannen, elektrotechnisch ontwerp, embedded systems en programmeren. Deze rol geeft mij de kans om mijn technische kennis verder toe te passen in de praktijk en mezelf te ontwikkelen binnen product development, hardware, software en project engineering.

My work includes both hands-on technical work and digital product development, such as: • Installation of complex automotive lighting systems • Soldering and custom wiring solutions • Designing and building custom automotive wiring harnesses • Integration with vehicle electronics (CAN bus systems) • Programming and configuring lighting controllers and modules • Vehicle coding, system calibration and component learning In addition to vehicle work, I also develop the digital infrastructure around our products and services, including: • Design and development of websites and online configurators • Development of mobile applications (iOS & Android) • Integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems • Development of control apps for automotive lighting products • Automation systems and digital workflows for the business I am also responsible for: • Product sourcing and development • Customer relations and project management • Partnerships with garages and automotive companies • Brand building, marketing and digital infrastructure Our goal is to push automotive interiors beyond factory standards and deliver premium automotive styling & ambiance.
Als oprichter van RedShot Productions richt ik mij op het ontwikkelen van innovatieve creatieve oplossingen. Ons bedrijf specialiseert zich in verschillende creatieve disciplines, waaronder front-end development, fotografie, videografie, editing, animatie en sound design. Mijn rol als oprichter omvat zowel het strategisch vormgeven van de bedrijfsrichting als het praktisch uitvoeren van projecten voor diverse klanten. Als lichttechnicus bij Greg & Baud Productions ben ik verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerpen en bouwen van podia, inclusief lichtontwerp, programmering en bediening tijdens evenementen. Mijn expertise omvat zowel de technische aspecten van lichtinstallaties als het creatieve proces van het creëren van unieke visuele ervaringen. Door mijn werk heb ik meerdere awards gewonnen, wat de kwaliteit en innovatie van mijn lichtontwerpen onderstreept.
