Since 2018, I commited myself at Alheembouw to the coordination of the design process of DB(F)(M) education projects in Flanders. I saw various projects evolve from a brief detailling the wishes of the client over sketchdesigns towards a complete competition offer covering all disciplines. The projects vary in size (400 m2 -> 13.500 m2), budget (800 k€ -> 28 k€) and educational functions (student housing, elemantary and secundary schools, education for kids with special needs). However, all projects have a lot in common as well: a focus on client satisfaction (Alheembouw DNA), an elevated level of sustainability and a strong compromise between quality and buget, architecture and technical limitations. During this period, I learned a lot about architecture and the technical design of non-residential buildings. I learned that I can manage a design team covering all design disciplines, and that it is fun when a project comes together. I am known to be able to handle the completeness of complex projects, to cope with planning and hard deadlines and to deal with multiple tenders running simultaneously. Between 2010 and 2018 employed by the dredging, offshore & construction company Jan De Nul Group, I have eight years worth of experience in the execution and coordination of dredging, offshore and construction projects. I combine commitment, an out-of-the-box attitude and strong analytical skills with technical knowledge as a Master of Engineering, civil engineering (K.U.Leuven).
With a specific focus on various educational projects, it's my responsibility to guide the design process from A to Z. From the receiving of the client brief and site visit onwards, I coordinate the design team ('bouwteam'), thus ensuring the feasibility of the project both technical and economical. My responsibilies are: design coordination, budget calculation, compiling competition offer, ... (Some of the many) Reference projects: - (2018) DB BS KA Zottegem [4.800 m2]: an innovative elementary school, focussing on XXIst century skills (Alheembouw | B2Ai-Rosan Bosch studios | VK Engineering | Denis Dujardin + Grasland) - (2019) DB Sint-Lodewijkscollege Brugge [3.800 m2]: 70 rooms student housing over 4 levels, a student restaurant and 4 STEM classrooms on the ground floor. (Alheembouw | Groep III | KOBE | Boydens engineering) - (2021) DBFM Egied van Broeckhovenschool Sint-Jans-Molenbeek [13.500 m2]: a technical secundary school with a strong social engagement - partly located in an impressive renovated brewery building. (Alheembouw | B2Ai | VK Engineering | Stefaan Thiers) - (2023) DBFM Broeders van Liefde Turnhout-Zelzate-Gent: a cluster of three secundary schools in DBFM contract.

Project: the construction of a third lock chamber in the 'Prinses Beatrix Lock' at Utrecht, The Netherlands. Job content: supervision of the translocation of objects which are part of the 'Nieuw Hollandse Waterlinie'.
