As an Innovation Lawyer supporting Gateley’s Disputes teams, I focus on helping legal teams work smarter by integrating technology, improving processes and supporting the adoption of new solutions across the Group. My role sits at the intersection of law, problem‑solving and innovation, and includes: • Tech integration — identifying, testing and embedding tools that enhance efficiency and client service. • Process improvement — mapping workflows, spotting bottlenecks and designing better ways of working. • Change support — helping teams adopt new systems and approaches with practical guidance and training. • Collaboration across disputes teams — working with colleagues across the Gateley Group to deliver consistent, scalable innovation. • Problem‑solving — partnering with teams to understand challenges and shape solutions that genuinely make their work easier. My aim is to make innovation feel accessible, useful and embedded in everyday practice.

Running a full, complex high value case load of respiratory disease claims, to include asbestos, silicosis and HP with minimal supervision as a Grade C fee earner. Securing high value settlements for extremely deserving clients.
Assisting fee earners with tasks on asbestos litigation files to include: liaising with clients via telephone and email, undertaking extensive company research, liaising with and instructing expert witnesses, liaising with counsel, drafting documents i.e. witness statements, schedules of loss, court applications, court orders.
I spent a week in the Personal Injury department. I attended a RTA court case and was able to see civil litigation play out in practice. I analysed a number of medical records for partners and associates who specialise in dermatitis, HAVS, deafness and asbestos related claims and received very positive feedback on my work.
I built upon my customer service, and the role required me to adapt my approach with different types of customers. The establishment has an excellent reputation so I worked hard to ensure that I provided a friendly and personable, yet professional, level of service. I was able to present myself well and work well under pressure on a busy shift.
