Paris, Île-de-France, France
I am a neuroscientist and ethicist, researcher, lecturer in ethics within the Master's in AI Law at the Institut Catholique de Paris, and a certified Digital Ethics Officer from EDHEC BS (2023). I am a TEDx speaker. I gave my first TEDxSaclay talk in 2024 on the challenges of generative AI (https://tedxsaclay.com/fr/editions/entre-visible-et-invisible/intervenants/laure-tabouy). I hold a PhD in neuroscience from Université Paris-Cité (2012), and a master's degree in ethics from Université Paris-Saclay (2021). My career as a neuroscience researcher initially focused on genetic and epigenetic regulation during neurodevelopment. I broadened my thematic scope to include the role of the intestinal microbiota and the gut-brain axis in autism during my post-doctorate in Israel at Bar-Ilan University and on my return to Paris in 2018, until 2021. Since 2021, I have been engaged in a 2nd PhD in ethics / neuroethics at the Centre Gilles Gaston Granger (UMR 7304) at the Université l'Aix-Marseille and Paris-Saclay University. Through her work, she reflects on how to define and implement “neuroethics by design” approach for AI-connected neurotechnologies, and on the challenges of the convergence of neuroscience with digital technology. I build bridges between the worlds of academic and institutional research, in the service of society, human beings and the common good. I am a European Expert, and operational digital reservist at DGNum, Ministry of the Armed Forces.
