I completed my BSc in Biomedical Sciences and MSc Molecular Biology and Biochemistry by Research at the University of Lincoln. Running practicals, training students on techniques, liaising with academics and preparing reagents for sessions. Developing techniques and understanding of life sciences and chemistry equipment. Updating prep notes, ensuring safety of students and attending additional training. Skills gained include: gas chromatography, cellular pathology, molecular biology, animal handling and forensics techniques. Also the Tech Linc social media and engagement officer, championing the Technician Committment at the University of Lincoln by encouraging engagement, advertising skills development and improving visibility of technicians.
Working with the Dogs Trust on a project involving the stressing of dogs. Processed samples, ran ELISAs and maintained excellent lab cleanliness. Kept on top of consumables stock.
Assisting in undergraduate practical sessions with demonstrating. Taught students microtome safety and broke down jargon to engage students from all backgrounds in the impact that they can have in life sciences.
