I have been working as a Research Coordinator within Wales Gene Park at Cardiff University for the last 6 years. In my role I setup and manage rare disease research studies and have expertise in patient recruitment, ethics and compliance and project management. My previous role allowed me to work on Phase I and II oncology clinical trials and I have been interviewed by the MHRA. I am passionate about improving the research experience for patients and participants and working for an organisation that has the patients at the heart of everything they do. Alongside my role, I am the Information Governance Lead and a key member of the School of Medicine Research Ethics Committee, Cardiff University NHS Digital Working Group and SoM wellbeing team. I sit on the project team for ORRCA (https://orrca.org.uk) and review CU Biobank requests.
Leadership & Management Wales (LMW) is a unique centre for excellence, funded by government to benefit businesses of all sizes and sectors across Wales. LMW was formed to support businesses in developing their leadership and management development (LMD) skills, enabling them to increase efficiency and help grow the economy in Wales. It is funded by the European Social Fund and the Welsh Government, which also sponsors the project. As a Project Assistant, I was involved with the co-ordination and management of all Projects undertaken by LMW and engaged with Businesses and Training Providers to promote Leadership and Management in Wales
Throughout my time at UPL, I worked in a number of departments before joining the Accounts Team in October 2011. I joined the company as a Meter Operator Coordinator, before being promoted 3 months later to Team Leader. After 6 months as Meter Operator Team Leader I was promoted to Data Services Customer Relationship Manager where I managed a team of 6 and became the central Client contact for all Data queries. During this time I completed the ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management before being transferred to the Accounts Team. As an Account Manager I was involved with numerous projects including a large migration project for Cooperative, small sub-metering projects for O2 and Vodafone and gas and water logger installation projects for Edinburgh Council, Parkwood and O2
During my time as an Administrative Assistant I produced the Annual Leaseholder statements by interpretating data from the Housing Stock system and resolved all queries following the submission of the statements, liaised with contractors to order scaffolding, windows and doors for the Companies Housing Stock, processed, monitored and verified invoices from contractors to ensure they were accurate, produced statistical graphs for the quarterly board meeting report and produced training manuals for the Repairs Section of the company.
