Bioinformatics scientist with background in cancer biology. My training includes experience as both a computational and bench scientist. My current work involves analyzing pre-clinical and clinical NGS data, integrating publicly available data and cancer biology knowledge to provide meaningful results for drug discovery. I have a unique perspective for analyzing bioinformatic analyses and results due to extensive experience performing wet lab experiments. Training background in molecular biology, cancer biology and developmental neurobiology. Excellent communication skills with 10+ oral/poster presentations at symposiums and conferences and 14 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including 3 first author publications. Excellent teamwork skills and communication skills. Computational skills: R, bash/UNIX, high performance computing, machine learning, statistical analysis, NGS analysis: RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, chIP-seq, data wrangling and visualization in R, IGV, Gene Ontology Bioinformatics blog: https://lhover11.github.io/bytesofbiology/
