About

I have over 30 years of progressive professional experience in trade-related technical assistance (TRTA) Programs/projects. This included needs assessment, formulation, management, coordination, and evaluation in developing countries with consistent experience in the Arab Region. Moreover, I have a solid experience in establishing partnerships with Donors (from & outside Arab Region), UN agencies, International Development Organizations, Governments, International NGOs and private sector organizations. I also have a long experience of the technical cooperation programs of the UN Agencies and International Organizations.

      Main Achievements: - Lead the design of the AfTIAS 2.0 Program which is a Multi-Donor, Multi-Country and Multi-Agency Program. - Develop the business plan and architecture of the AfTIAS 2.0 Program Trust Fund. - Develop the management arrangements of the AfTIAS 2.0 Program. - Develop resource mobilization strategy of the AfTIAS 2.0 Program by identifying the required resources (from the Donors & Partners). To date more than US$ 17 Million were mobilized. - Launching the AfTIAS 2.0 Program (October 2021) - Approving to date, 17 projects (05 regional projects & 12 country-projects). out of them 02 for UNIDO: (1)-Building the capabilities and qualification of SMEs in Saudi Arabia and Yemen to participate and benefit from national and regional quality infrastructure services . (2)- Effective trade support for export-driven industrialization post COVID-19.

      Main Achievements: Leading the design and implementation of the following projects: - Export Launchpad Bangladesh Program - Manager, Reverse Linkage Project between Mauritania and Palestine on “Capacity Development for Enhancing the Vegetables Value Chain in Mauritania” - Manager, The Aflatoxin Mitigation Program (AMP) in The Gambia - ITFC’s interventions during the COVID-19 outbreak trough the management of the following projects: 1) Tunisia : (June 2020 – March 2022): “Support the setting up the Tunisia National Center for Education Technologies "CNTE" Information and Communication Technology "ICT" Space: the project will allow to remote learning through virtual classrooms in the wake of mass school closures during the pandemic. 2) Sudan: (January – July 2022)/ Project implemented by UNIDO: “Support the mitigation of COVID-19 impact on the dairy sector’s food security and safety in Sudan”. 3) Sudan: (January – November 2021): Supporting the Republic of Sudan to cope with the damage and losses due to the flood’s disaster.

      Main Achievements: - Building successful Partnership between Arab Countries (19), Donors (07) and (09) Executing Agencies (including 05 UN Agencies); - Seven (07) Donors contributed to the budget of the AfTIAS 1.0 Program (US$ 10.5 Million); - 28 projects approved under AfTIAS 1.0 Program for the benefit of 19 Arab countries. The following projects were implemented under AfTIAS 1.0 Program by UNIDO: 1) Palestine & Tunisia: technical twinning in accreditation and mutual recognition. 2) Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC): Supporting SMEs to participate and benefit from Quality Infrastructure (QI) services. 3) Sudan: developing national quality policy and supporting accreditation. 4) Palestine: Capacity Building for SMEs 5) Tunisia: Expanding SME upgrading approach in Tunisia to innovation and export promotion. 6) Libya: enhancing export capacities. 7) Iraq: upgrading GMO testing capacities to facilitate trade and enhance consumer protection.
