About

Award-winning doctor, personal trainer and nutrition coach — translating nutrition science into practical insights for an ultraprocessed world. I work as an ACCS Anaesthetics CT3 at the Royal London Hospital. Outside of clinical medicine, my focus is on one of the most important public health challenges of our time: why diet-related disease and obesity have reached epidemic levels — and what we can actually do about it. My work challenges the conventional calorie-counting model and explores the science of why ultraprocessed food is driving overconsumption at a population level. I write about this in my monthly newsletter, post regularly on social media, and am currently writing a book: Beyond Calories — Navigating an Ultraprocessed World. I founded Make a Medic, a registered charity developing medical education resources and supporting public health initiatives in low- and middle-income countries. Academically: 25 prizes for academic excellence during medical school · top percentile MRCP · Nuffield Medal for the Primary FRCA · author of four internationally published medical textbooks, several of which reached Amazon bestseller lists in medical education.
