Ex - SWE & AI Intern @ DRDO HQ | Backend & DevOps | Applied AI/ML

Faridabad, Haryana, India

About

I’m a final-year Computer Engineering undergraduate at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology with a 9.58 CGPA, building at the intersection of backend systems, cloud deployment, and applied AI/ML. My strongest work has been around taking ideas beyond prototypes - designing APIs, building authentication flows, working with databases, deploying systems used by real users, debugging production issues, and creating ML-backed pipelines that run end to end. At DRDO HQ, I worked as a Software Engineering & AI Intern on an end-to-end multilingual search system for noisy English-Bengali queries using BM25, E5, MiniLM reranking, and XGBoost-based fusion. The system was implemented internally as DRDO’s multilingual search toolkit, achieved 99.68% NDCG@10, ranked 2nd internationally in the CMIR 2025 Data Challenge, and was published at FIRE 2025. On the product side, I built and deployed Thapar Go, a university ride-pooling backend serving 2.5K+ monthly users and handling 95K+ requests/month. The production deployment uses AWS EC2, Docker, NGINX, Gunicorn, and GitHub Actions CI/CD, with a custom Google OAuth + JWT authentication pipeline for university-only access. I’ve also built systems across real-time stock analytics, WebSockets, SQL-heavy financial analytics, algorithmic trading strategies, and AI-agent workflows. Along the way, I’ve been a Flipkart GRID 7.0 Semi-finalist, Semi-finalist at Bhasha Bandhu Hackathon by Microsoft × Government of India, ML Trading Track Runner-Up at brAInwave 2024, and recipient of merit scholarships worth ₹8L+. My core strengths are backend development, API design, authentication, databases, DevOps, and applied AI/ML. I’m currently looking for SDE, Backend, DevOps, AI/ML, and product-focused engineering opportunities.
