I graduated from the University of Washington in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am currently working at Boeing as a Structural Analysis Engineer on the Systems Stress team.
-Promoted to Level 2 August 2024. -Perform and document stress and loads analysis on airplane system components including cargo systems and fuel systems using hand analysis methods. -Construct, run, and validate structural Finite Element Models in HyperMesh and Nastran/Patran to identify loads for stress analysis and examine deflection behavior to support system design. -Coordinate with suppliers and design team to support system design changes and certification processes.
Helped new Mechanical Engineering students navigate the department, build a support network, and prepare for future careers. Led students in weekly group discussions while creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Committed 10+ hours per week to developing the future of sustainable transportation in a student team of 50. Recruited and led an interdisciplinary team of 5 in designing and manufacturing a hyperloop pod chassis, fairing, and additional structures for the European Hyperloop Week Competition. Volunteered at local schools to share my experience and get younger students excited about scientific career paths. PCommunicated with existing and prospective sponsors and advisors to select and procure materials. Gave weekly update presentations to the full team and contributed 28 pages to a 153-page project summary.
Learned the basics of composite design and manufacturing processes. Planned and conducted small-scale carbon fiber tensile and flexural testing following ASTM standards. Communicated with existing and prospective sponsors and advisors to select and procure materials. Worked with my team towards the goal of competing in SpaceX’s international Hyperloop pod competition.
Worked at Pacific Science Center's Camps For Curious Minds in order to foster creativity and critical thinking within students. Learned to adjust strategies and adapt to changing circumstances while creatively teaching a wide range of science-based concepts to students ranging from kindergarten to middle school.
