Hello! I’m Kylia, a Year 1 Biological Sciences undergraduate and a member of the CN Yang Scholars Programme at Nanyang Technological University with an interest in pursuing biomedical research, more specifically in pathways related to tumor immunology. I hope to give back to the community through the means of my passion-driven research. As a member of the CN Yang Scholars Programme, its interdisciplinary structure has helped me to hone various skills like scientific writing and evaluating research papers. Additionally, the programme has sharpened my scientific enquiry and has helped me gain exposure to crafting my very own literature review. Beyond academics, I have been active as a Wushu athlete for 11 years and counting. The discipline, resilience and flexibility this sport taught me has kept me focused on constantly trying to improve myself in times of adversity. My numerous leadership positions in the sport have crafted who I am today, a team-player, a responsible leader and an active listener. Besides sports, I also have a strong passion for cooking and inventing new recipes.
