I am looking to be a successful 21st century educator. I want to use my skills, and knowledge learned at Dickinson College (undergrad) and Arcadia (Master of Education) to push my classroom forward. While I have belief in my ability, I know I have much to learn. I do know that it is not the content that creates great learners, it is the skills that students develop. I will focus on allowing students to create their own learning. I will expect students to evaluate certain events and defend a stance. I will ask students to draw connections and analyze these same connections. The students will have to understand school learning is more than the chapters in our textbook. While that is my game plan, I also know that sometimes game plans go awry. I am confident in my ability, so when lessons or discussions inevitably take an unexpected turn, I can rely on my diverse learning experiences at Germantown Academy to move our classroom forward.
