I am a career Logistics and Supply Chain professional that has taken on many roles within the Freight Forwarding industry in order to build my knowledge in all facets of Supply Chain delivery. I have worked and Managed in all major modes of transportation as well as a focus on International Trade compliance as I have obtained my Certified Customs Specialist designation and have worked with several Export and Import control regimes over the years. In developing my career I focused on the creation and use of internal metrics and process flow analysis in order to improve productivity and profitability in all my roles. In each management role I assumed, I was able to reduce overtime and increase profitability for each department through process improvement, strategic sales and vendor contract negotiations.
•Oversee all trade compliance aspects for products manufactured in local facility to be shipped worldwide. Compliance issues include all export permits and Re-Export licenses issued by the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Development, and US Department of Commerce for Dual Use controlled goods, maintenance of denied party screening programs and adherence to OFAC policies and procedures •Review and ensure that all customs activities performed by our vendors are compliant with international trade regulations in Canada and the US •Negotiate all contracts of service with Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers and maintain vendor relationships •Maintain all record retention programs as per requirements of Canada Revenue and US Customs and Border Protection •Create and achieve all goals associated with Supply Chain/Logistics activities •Have created and maintained an internal Classification Database for inbound and outbound products, renegotiated service contracts resulting in a 20% per year reduction in Logistics related expenditure
