Wei Ling is a Research Assistant at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore. Most of her team’s work revolves around Health Services Research. Professionally, Wei Ling’s interests lie in understanding the gaps and optimising healthcare system processes to encourage quality and efficient healthcare delivery. Wei Ling is also interested in the determinants influencing patients’ awareness, willingness to screen, compliance to screening and quality of life through treatment. Wei Ling’s current works mostly involve exploring the use of technology in streamlining healthcare processes. Personally, Wei Ling is an aspiring researcher who believes that our pursuit for knowledge and understanding of humans and everything else related is endless, and that there are new discoveries to be made everyday. Her passion for research also stemmed from seeing concepts on paper being applied into real-life actions, and that is a sight that will never fail to light up her eyes. She also loves all things people - not only observing and studying about them, but also interacting with a diverse range of people. Wei Ling appreciates learning things in perspectives that she may not have considered, and especially when differing opinions can come together to provide bigger pictures. Wei Ling completed her Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) in Psychology from Nanyang Technological University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health in National University Singapore. While she dreams of one day being able to read people’s minds, realistically, Wei Ling hopes to use her knowledge and skills and contribute to work that benefit people and the community.
