Procurement of critical mechanical components by ensure target capacity, cost & quality etc. on time to fulfill project requirements. Purchasing function support metal and packaging parts to achieve best scenario of costing, terms & condition at current or new supplier chains. Sourcing new material/processes/suppliers to drive for innovations and work out implementation plan with CM. Expertise at plastic, metal and packaging parts of consumer electronic products with hand on experience of tooling, good knowledge at material properties and market prices.
Same to the present, this company was set up to change new owner with products diversify to multi-brand.
Report to the Purchasing Lead to implement strategic planning. Responsible for purchase tooling & components at the optimum target costs, schedule and capacity. Responsible for transfer local and overseas projects with duplicate or existing tools. Maintain open book costing with contract suppliers for all injection plastic and printing & packaging components. Help budgeting for annual tooling expenses and report Rofo savings quarterly from BoM. Manage suppliers' performance issues and update supplier list. New supplier introduction by system tool with cross function team. Liaise with Development Centre’s (Vienna, Singapore) to define specifications/quality acceptance and release alternative material. Key member of implementation of environmental material (recycled paper/ plastic) Support Shenzhen and other Philips’ factories (Beijing, Hungary, Zhuhai) with sharing supply and improvement programs. Work under function matrix to serve project teams from planning to validation of new/ critical mechanical components. Supplier base benchmarking and timely review cost models with costing managers to maintain realistic estimation. Regular provide forecasting volume to material manufacturers to reserve production capacity and help bargain better contract prices. Cross sector purchasing information ex-change, sharing technology and market trend etc. to drive for improvement.
