As a part of my current master's programme, I am doing an internship at the Citizen Science Lab, based in the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University. During my internship with the Citizen Science Lab, I will be contributing to the Academia In Motion and Open Science programme by investigating the range of participatory research practices and community-engaged learning practices that are already ongoing at Leiden University. I will be exploring and describing these practices in citizen science projects, the experiences of those working on the projects, the types of learning/insights that can be gleaned from these, and ultimately how they can support the embedding of open science practices in the academy.
