I am an experienced proponent, advisor and catalytic leader in the field of economic, social and ecological equity creation with more than 15 years experience on four continents in sustainable energy, strategic planning, policy and regulatory change, stakeholder engagement, communications and commercial, public and community partnership building.
I work with a portfolio of commercial, indigenous, community, labour and government clients to create economic, social and ecological value. By finding equilibrium, the centre of a circle, new opportunities and prosperity are created resulting in long term benefit for my clients and their customers/stakeholders. Past and current clients include the Canadian Union of Skilled Workers, the Aboriginal Skilled Workers Association, GP Joule, Chiefs of Ontario, Smart Net Development Inc., MyFibre, Golden Harmony, Smart Net Coalition, Cohousing Options Canada, Roots to Roofs Community Development Society, and the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association.
As CUSW's Sustainability and Innovation Advisor I act as a facilitator, advisor and spokesperson providing and promoting thought leadership and advocacy for industrial democracy, new model unionism, entrepreneurship and the transition to a more sustainable and prosperous Canada. Sustainable and prosperous means good jobs, a strong civil society, healthy environments and resilient communities for this and future generations.
As the Executive Director of Cohousing Options Canada Non-profit Consultancy we help Canadians live better, together through Cohousing. We do this by helping cohousing groups and like-minded individuals realize a lifestyle that maximizes both privacy and community. We offer workshops, training, advisory and project development services leveraging expertise provided by our in-house team and through collaboration with local partners and international experts and leaders in cohousing.
I co-govern with my fellow Directors in order to achieve future where people of all ages and different means can learn, work, and live with shared values and amenities in an attainable, net-zero community. Our work began in Owen Sound, but will extend through out the region of Grey-Bruce-Owen Sound. Current initiatives are focused on the development of employment lands, a 300+ workforce housing project that will make homeownership possible to household incomes as low as $35,000, and the support and creation of social enterprises to help advance key economic, social and environmental metrics.
The Roots to Roofs Community Development Society is moving reconciliation forward by collaborating with Indigenous and non-indigenous communities on housing, resiliency, planning and skills training.
