Under the supervision of Dr. Joseph Noel and Dr. Charisse Crenshaw, I contributed to the analysis of the terpene synthase family by conducting biochemical experiments, as well as by collecting and analyzing data, on 5-epi aristolochene synthase and similar proteins, including Thermofluor assays and crystallography. In the summer of 2011, I received a summer undergraduate research fellowship from the American Society of Plant Biologists for this work.
