Kristie Lu Stout is an award-winning anchor and correspondent for CNN, based in Hong Kong. She reports from the newsroom and in the field on major news stories including US-China relations, strategic tech development across Asia, and the aftermath of extreme climate events in the region. A multi-platform journalist since she joined the network in 2001, Kristie reports for CNN for an array of platforms including linear TV, digital, streaming, and social media. Lu Stout is a Global Trustee of the Asia Society. She is also an Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) lifetime member and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Kristie holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Stanford University and studied advanced Mandarin at Beijing’s Tsinghua University.

Provide high-level strategic advice, leveraging my extensive networks and expertise in media, innovation, and current affairs to further the Society's mission of fostering a greater understanding between Asia and the world. Serve as a senior leader to help shape initiatives, offer diverse perspectives, and strengthen the organization's global reach and impact.
Serve as a Correspondent Board Governor at the FCC to guide the Club's strategic direction and help organize speaking events including screenings of “No Ordinary Life,” a film about CNN’s pioneering war camerawomen. As a convener of the FCC Wall Committee, organize monthly exhibitions of impactful photojournalism at the Club including "Women in War," by acclaimed Hong Kong photojournalist Nicole Tung, work by the Women Photograph Collective, and an annual “Hong Kong, My Home!” university student exhibition. In 2024, facilitated the Club’s acquisition of the 1977 World Press Photo of the Year by noted war photographer Françoise Demulder who, in 1977, became the first woman to win the award.
