Deep Green is the innovative sustainability initiative of Deep Hydrography & Geophysics, setting a new standard for completely emission-free data acquisition. Within this specialized branch, Deep Green delivers net-zero hydrographic, geophysical, and water quality survey data, entirely eliminating the environmental impact of marine and sub-bottom investigations. To execute these climate-neutral projects, Deep Green deploys a fully zero-emission fleet—featuring advanced electric survey vessels like the custom-built Green Purple, unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), and electric transport vehicles—enabling clean operations in inland waterways, urban canals, and ports. This sustainable approach substantially improves acoustic data quality by eliminating engine vibrations, while minimizing disturbance to urban environments and marine life. By choosing Deep Green, clients like water boards and municipalities directly lower their project carbon footprint and secure a competitive edge in sustainable tenders.

Commissioned by Deep BV, it was my responsibility to ensure a new joint venture (between Deep BV and Optimal Ranging, Inc.) was established with the aim to introduce a new generation of Depth of Burial cable tracking equipment for the offshore market. The primary objective was to bring both strengths and qualities of both JV partners together to a higher level, where opportunities arise that both companies by itself could not achieve. Apart from increasing opportunities and developments for the best of the JV, it was always important to safeguard the interests of both partners. DOBstar, LLC, registered in California (USA), has been launched and, after extensive testing and modifying prototypes, preparing and executing a marketing plan, the systems are manufactured and put into the market.
