I build products, lead engineering teams, and sometimes teach, speak, or write when I have something useful to share. I work at the overlap of engineering, design, product, and people. I care a lot about how teams work, how products feel, and how the little decisions add up. These days, I'm leading an engineering team at Buffer, shaping front-end direction and building tools for creators. Outside of work, I'm usually reading something, wandering in the Estonian woods, watching a good show, or dialing in a pour-over.
Leading the several engineering teams at Buffer, I focus on building and maintaining the tools that empower people to create, schedule, and publish content. I also help shape Front-End strategy across Buffer and steward the development of our design system, Popcorn, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and joyful dev experience.
After working as an Engineering Manager in a product team, I was promoted to lead engineering-wide initiatives aimed at improving internal productivity and developer experience, as well as building Veriff’s external engineering brand. → Led the Front-End guild to promote best practices and improve dev velocity → Built and maintained Veriff’s design system: 30+ accessible, tested components used in 20+ products. Leading to a 43% increase in satisfaction and stronger cross-team collaboration → Designed and led the hiring process for Front-End roles, including interview flows and interviewer training → Developed and launched an engineering career framework, improving career conversations and internal mobility → Designed and implemented the onboarding experience for engineers and managers → Drove external technical presence: 15+ community appearances improved brand visibility and hiring metrics
Brought on to establish the new Verification Tools team with the goal of reimagining the KYC review experience, a critical part of Veriff's business. → Led development of a new Verification Tool that made the review process more flexible and customizable, improving accuracy and reducing average review times by 70% → Scaled team from 2 to 7, overseeing hiring, onboarding, and day-to-day team development → Significantly improved internal user experience of verification tooling, resulting 3x increase NPS → Led technical design on cross-functional initiatives, including technical design docs and engineering alignment → Contributed to broader engineering culture by launching internal tech talks, engineering guilds, improved hiring process, and internal documentation
As the leader of UI development for the YouScan core product, I successfully expanded the team from 1 to 6 people, while simultaneously improving the software development process and delivering substantial business value. - Led hiring & onboarding for both Front-End engineers and product designers in YouScan, mentored engineers, provided support - Curated high-level UI development vision with both product features, technical debt and architectural improvements - Created and curated internal design system complete with documentation, style guide and examples
YouScan is a leading social media listening platform in Eastern Europe. I joined to lead UI development of web application where I acted as both product designer and front-end engineer. - Upgraded .NET web application to the new stack (React, Redux, ImmutableJS) while significantly improving user experience and adding new features - Developed multi-lingual modular mailing system with custom React renderer, with its own design system, set of reusable components and charts - Created flexible mechanism to integrate YouScan with many different services (CRM, messengers, BI systems), which increased average user engagement rate by 12% - Implemented a mechanism to automate repetitive workflows which resulted in decrease of manual work by 47% for our users
I collaborated with Front-End Science, a leading online school for Front-End Engineers in Ukraine, to design a comprehensive course on web application development using React. - Designed a comprehensive course curriculum that covered key topics such as React, Redux, Functional Programming, Webpack, and software testing. I created interactive learning experiences for students through code challenges, practical exercises and hands-on projects that helped reinforce the concepts learned in the course. The course consisted of 20 lessons, each lasting 3 hours, along with 50 hands-on tasks and 4 practical workshops - Introduced a mentorship team of experienced mentors who provided valuable feedback and reviewed students' work to enhance their learning and knowledge - Successfully taught over 100 students, across 4 groups, receiving high praise from students for the quality of the course content and delivery - Led several public webinars on JavaScript and React, which received a large following, with each webinar attracting over 10 000 views
ITVDN is leading online education platforms for developers in Ukraine. I cooperated with them to lead education initiatives related to Reactjs. - Recorded a video course about Reactjs, which became the most successful on the platform, with more than 100k students enrolled - Conducted several webinars on various web development topics which were very successful and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from audience and more than 100k views - Conducted several hands-on workshops about full-stack development with JavaScript, React and Node which received active participation and positive feedback from the audience
