WBD101 - The only Asian startup with very accurate, in-depth in-house expertise on in-ear and in-ear PPG sensing to detect heart rate, core body temp, respiratory rate, SpO2, HRV. We are conducting research trials also for in-ear arrhythmia and pulse transit time (blood pressure) that will be ready by 2025. The accuracies of our algorithm have been validated via research trials with higher institutions such as the National University of Singapore, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen University Hospital Hypoxia Laboratory, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and The University of Hong Kong. Our technology ActivHearts™ is used by Anker Soundcore Liberty 4, Cleer Arc 3 Sports Pro, Philips TAA7306, Harman Kardon JBL Reflect Fit, Pioneer SEC-S801BT and Alexa supported Cleer EDGE sports earphones, 233621 Sense and Actywell Digital (Brand: Hera Leto) family of healthcare products. Besides ear based smart sensing, our customer Qidi Viva also implemented our PPG on the nose bridge for their AR glasses.

With almost 150 patents in multiple-LEDs/multiple-Photodiodes sensing, we help you customize your optical designs instead of using standard modules that are inaccurate for wearables/hearables. We also provide hospitals/institutions validated algorithm such as heart rate, SpO2, core body temperature, sleep stages and HRV (ActivHearts™ and Mogo™), other algorithms for vitals like hypertension alert and arrhythmia are on the way. Thirdly we co-develop the Bluetooth SDK with our customers to ensure functionality and reliability of their products after adding vital signs sensing. WBD101 became the first SME in HKG and the first HKSTP based company to be appointed as a Designated Local Research Institution. Companies who engage with WBD101 for approved R&D activities can get up to 300% tax deduction in Hong Kong.
