Leipzig, Saxony, Germany
I am Konstantin Kemnitz, a dedicated composer, orchestrator/arranger, pianist, and educator from Germany. My early experiences with the St. Thomas Choir in Leipzig profoundly influenced my musical direction and passion. I achieved a master’s degree in Scoring for Screen from the renowned Royal College of Music in London in 2020, following my bachelor's degree in Composition for Film and Theater from the ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem, obtained in 2017. My education also includes studies at the Musicube Academy in Bonn. During my academic journey, I had the privilege of attending masterclasses led by celebrated Hollywood composers such as Harry Gregson-Williams, George Fenton, Richard Bellis, and Matthias Weber. These experiences helped me forge strong connections with institutions like the London Film School and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and allowed me to contribute music to several internationally recognized short films directed by Marco Gadge. Upon my return to Germany, I continued my successful partnership with Marco Gadge by scoring his debut feature film, "Juliet must die," which won the prestigious Max Ophüls Prize. Additionally, I scored the documentary "Wild Tech - Conversation through Advanced Technology," which won a golden trophy at the Deauville Green Awards, further validating my impact on the international film scene. My work has been featured on well-known European TV channels such as ARD, ARTE, and RTL, which are celebrated for their broad reach across the continent. My collaborations extend across Europe with esteemed ensembles like the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra, the Landesjugendorchester Bremen, the Ereprijs Orkest, and the Jugendsinfonieorchester Leipzig, leading to opportunities to work in top studios such as Air-Edel Studio in London and Galaxy Studios in Belgium. Since 2021, I've been an instructor at the University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy," teaching film music and music & computer. I also share my knowledge of piano, composition, and music production at the Swiss music school "MyMusicCoach".
