About

For 30 years I worked as a manager and a consultant creating sustainable results by developing the potential of organisations using team-based work, lean six sigma and total productive management. I worked for companies like DAF, Organon, Bosch, Aalbers Industries, Danone, Heineken, DSM, Sabic and FrieslandCampina. Learning for myself and helping others to learn have been my drivers all the time. Therfore, I became professor Continuous Improvement in 2015, and later professor Impactful Value Chains at Avans University of Applied Science. Since 2022 I combine this with a professorship Smart Circular Systems at Rotterdam University of Applied Science. In earlier stages of my carreer I focussed on economic productivity questions. Currently, I use a more holistic systemsperspective, trying to create organizations and value chains with the wellbeing of all stakeholders in mind, using old lean tools and new digital technologies. • Managing Director at Protean Management Solutions
    Jan 2007 - Present · 19 yrs 6 mos

I started Protean in 2007 to combine my managerial experience with TPM, Lean and Six Sigma. This resulted in many succesful improvement projects and many implementations of Continuous Improvement in major companies like Heineken, Bosch, Refresco, FrieslandCampina, Rabobank, Laurentius hospital, Hurks, AkzoNobel, DSM, etc. In my linkedin profile some of these projects and implementations are described. Currently I am especially interested in the use of Continuous Improvement in the 21st century: - using smart analysis possibilities like process mining and blockchain, - achieve circularity solutions and improvements, - international cooperation using cultural differences, - increasing labor productivity in order to deal with the aging of society.
