Engineering Design Verification Test - “Break-The-Drive" initiative lead to focus on assisting firmware subsystems into reaching the corner cases of firmware features through "White Box" testing to examine code execution path and by enhancing FMEA. - Minimize customer issues by using out-of-norm tests to focus on lower or no margin areas to create stresses to surface out potential field failure modes in the early development stages. - Conduct design reviews of key product features with cross functional teams for firmware error recovery and exception protocol validations. - Identify and validate new untested product features through collaboration with firmware subsystems and cross functional teams to exercise "difficult to reach" hidden cases to test out exceptional error recovery handling robustness. - Led a team to provide design verification test support on pre-released firmware code to check out firmware design robustness and code maturity during product design phases. - Responsible to support and maintain Flexstar/Gemstar tester host software/plugin setup, development and debugging for new HDD testing. - Responsible to perform drive failure analysis, provide first level failure characterization and co-ordinate failure analysis flow to track issue closures during product qualification phases through product launch. - Support failure analysis duplication work and developed beatup and customized test script to accelerate failure mode for root cause determination. - Constantly collaborating with functional design engineering groups to resolve issues and determine solutions and corrective action implementation. - Responsible to validate design/code fixes, solutions and workaround recommended by engineering design teams. - Self-servo writing checkerboard pattern verification support. - DVT testing and firmware code validation of Seagate Mobile & Desktop Product (5400 RPM & 7200 RPM), Compact Flash Type-II and USB Product.
