Senior Manager in Internal Audit responsible for the Sanlam Group's Actuarial, Investments and Financial Reporting functions.
Overall responsibility for risk management, compliance and governance throughout the Emerging Markets Cluster. Responsibilities includes reviewing risk based capital and identifying opportunities to optimize risk based capital. Assisting and challenging management on risk exposures. Coordination of risk management and compliance activities throughout the businesses in the cluster.
Responsible for specifying business requirements on the Sanlam Group's Solvency Assessment and Management (SAM) project. Also responsible for lobbying Sanlam views with the Regulator and assisting on the SAM Task Groups. Currently the Chariperson of the ORSA and Use Test Task Group. Responsible for building and managing the Actuarial and Financial Reporting Internal Audit Team within the Sanlam Group. The team currently services Actuarial and Financial Reporting functions in South Africa, the UK, South East Asia and Africa. The team has a strong focus on Solvency II and SAM assurance work in SA and the UK. Assurance work includes actuarial model validations; process. risk and control specifications and; control effectiveness reviews.
