Three18 was a Los Angeles-based technology consultancy focused on helping our clients become more successful through the smart use of technology. I founded it in 1995 and sold it over 25 years later about 1.5 years into the pandemic having demoted myself from Executive Chairman to CEO to get much more involved with the people (staff and clients) to help everyone deal with and effectively manage the changes forced by COVID 19. I assumed the CEO role in March 2020 and effectively doubled Three18’s EBITA in 5 fiscal quarters and accepted an LOI on Sept 13th 2021 and closed escrow on the sale about two weeks later on 09/30/2021 for more than double what the same buyer offered just before the pandemic started. The only red flag the buyer had was our net margins, which were more than double the best in class MSPs at that time. I knew our margins, GL and reps and warranties were legit, so I accepted consequential damages if anything was misrepresented and we closed escrow about 15 days later. As I’d 12/31/2025, buyer remains happy with the acquisition and nothing was misrepresented Also worth noting that every employee stayed on through the transition and after six-months of remaining on staff to help ensure a smooth transition , I was released and continued with the buyer as a strategic advisor for another year
