I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (BCACC) based in Richmond, British Columbia, offering individual psychotherapy to youth and adults in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. I work with clients both in person and online, supporting individuals across British Columbia and internationally. My clinical approach is grounded in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and shaped by a strong interest in relational, experiential, and humanistic ways of working. I draw on a range of psychoanalytic theories, including object relations theory, Winnicott and Bion’s ideas, self psychology, Jungian perspectives, ontological psychoanalysis, and intersubjective approaches. I focus on long-term, in-depth work that explores unconscious patterns, early relational experiences, and emotional development. With over nine years of clinical experience, I’ve worked with individuals facing depression, anxiety, identity struggles, low self-worth, trauma, relationship difficulties, and chronic emotional distress. I also have extensive experience working with clients from Chinese, Hong Kong, and Canadian-Asian backgrounds. My own bicultural experience allows me to understand how cultural values—such as family obligation, emotional restraint, achievement, and hierarchy—can shape psychological life and contribute to internal conflict. My academic training includes a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Hong Kong Shue Yan University, a Master’s degree in Behavioral Health from the University of Hong Kong, and a Bachelor of Psychological Science from the University of Queensland. I completed advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy through the China American Psychoanalytic Alliance (CAPA), and I continue to engage in ongoing supervision and study. My work is grounded in depth, presence, and cultural sensitivity. I aim to create a therapeutic space where clients can explore their inner world and find greater clarity, connection, and personal meaning.
