      In this dual role, responsibilities include engaging with community agencies to develop programs and opportunities to collaborate with the University of Mount Union. I create partnerships with area high schools to create educational and experiential learning programs that expose students to the benefits of higher education. Through these partnerships, we aim to assist first-generation and/or low-income students with their pathway to college by removing barriers that make the transition difficult. We offer: campus visits, free lunch, paid transportation, panel discussions with college students and faculty, summer enrichment programs, mentorship programs, and more. As the alumni relations specialist, I focus on creating opportunities to re-engage or alumni of color with the University and maintaining the integrity of our database. I have created annual reunions for the Black Student Union and collaborated with the office of diversity and Inclusion to execute a diversity pre-game tailgate during Alumni Weekend. I have also created both in-person and virtual networking events that aims to connect diverse students with diverse alumni. Lastly, I initiate data clean-up projects to ensure our database is up to date with contact information and adheres to our data standards.
