St. Petersburg, Florida, United States
I'm an attorney, policy consultant, and speaker based in St. Petersburg, FL, and my work is rooted in experience, not just credentials. For more than two decades, I've moved between courtrooms, classrooms, and policy tables — practicing trial law, serving as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of St. Petersburg, teaching American Government and International Relations at St. Petersburg College, and leading the Institute for Strategic Policy Solutions across the Florida College System. After our daughter's diagnosis, my work also became personal. I learned what it takes to navigate special education, disability rights, and the systems that shape a child's future — not from a textbook, but from the inside. Today I run two practices: ▸ Kimberly G. Jackson Attorney at Law, PLLC — legal counsel for families navigating education law, IEPs, disability rights, and related advocacy. ▸ Kimberly G. Jackson Consulting, LLC — local and state policy analysis, governmental affairs, and advisory work for organizations, institutions, and campaigns. I also speak at conferences, schools, bar associations, and community events — on disability advocacy, leadership, civic engagement, and what families actually need from systems that weren't built with them in mind. Education: Spelman College (B.A., Political Science) · Stetson University College of Law (J.D.) · Johns Hopkins SAIS (M.I.P.P.) Bar: The Florida Bar, Member in Good Standing since 2003 (No. 0682527) · St. Petersburg Bar Association · Fred G. Minnis Bar Association · Florida Bar Citizens Advisory Committee. Community: Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (St. Petersburg Alumnae) · The Links, Inc. (St. Petersburg) · Jack and Jill of America, Inc. · Leadership St. Pete '04. Currently serving on boards and committees with Academy Prep, Gulf Coast JFCS, the City of St. Petersburg Public Arts Commission, and the Florida Economic Club of Tampa Bay. If you're a family looking for guidance, an organization seeking a consultant, or an audience that needs a real voice on disability and civic life, I'd love to hear from you.
