Experience

  • Legal Agent at A.B.
    Jan 2017 - Present · 9 yrs 6 mos

Fortitude, trustworthiness, right judgement, discipline, balanced scrupulosity, and intensity of mind MATTER greatly to me. That is how I came to be part of a team who cares for and protects a beloved friend in need. Well, those qualities help, but truly it was God's will for me to be here! My role is to keep my friend healthy, happy, well-traveled, entertained, and challenged! Safety is a priority, so I have taken measures to arrange the living environment and to access tools that ensure safety needs are being met. I also have protected her from being victimized by not-so-nice others. I also ensure that she follows doctors' orders :) and maintain open lines of communications with medical providers. Managing home and property to maintain its value offers much opportunity for growth and expansion, having connected and formed relationships with contractors. Before outside help was hired, I maintained the beautiful yard and garden by myself. There was only so much time in the day to do all expected of me, so I made a plan, presented it to members of the team, and we have reached and maintained a healthy equilibrium. The overall work is definitely not easy, but I am determined to do my best! Ultimately, I am very appreciated by the team for not backing down in the face of the multitude of challenges frequently presented. Resistance and danger are met head on. Watch out! I have come to realize that I am stronger, and even a little smarter, than I ever realized before saying "yes" to this vocation. I am thankful to be hear!

  • Elementary School Teacher at Summit Academy Private School, name has changed to St. John Bosco Catholic School
    Aug 2015 - Jan 2017 · 1 yr 6 mos

I endeavored to instill in my beautiful students a love of learning and achieving while teaching them to value the rewards of a job well done. I developed a safe, pleasant, well-structured classroom with the goal of creating an optimal learning environment. I instructed children in the areas of Religion, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Courteous, lively, and open dialogue, with guidance and quality feedback between teacher and student, was paramount to me. This process enabled me to check for learning and understanding in each of my students. As a serious teacher, I conducted thorough informal and formal assessments, analyzed resulting data, and made pedagogical decisions based on the results, which ensured the best possible education for each of my students! I have high standards and expectations and recognized that my wonder-full students were up to the challenge. I also promoted and strengthened classroom and overall school community through involvement in fundraisers and other extracurricular activities. Cottonwood is a lovely little town on the Prairie, and I was so happy to develop close bonds with students and their families, to improve and enrich student learning. I left this position, when my friends in Pullman needed me due to life and death matters. I made the right decision to move on to care for my friends, but I miss the school, the families, the Atrium, and Christ the King Chapel. May God bless the school richly!

  • Full-time Mother and Homeschooling Parent...best vocation overall! at Self Employed
    Nov 1988 - Jan 2012 · 23 yrs 3 mos

During high school, I babysat children for neighborhood and church friends. I also cared for homes, gardens, pets...anything domestic! I was blessed to become a mother at the end of 1988, and enjoyed the intensity of being a homeschooling mom. Teaching my own amazing children and learning alongside them has been one of the greatest highlights of my life. Playing was essential, too! Because my dear children and I were always home, neighbors began to rely on us as a family to care for their most valued possessions, that is their homes, pets, and gardens. Word traveled, and we even expanded outside our neighborhood. It felt good knowing that people trusted my children and me to take care of their properties. Homeschooling inspired me to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education., with a minor in Special Education. My best teacher training program was by far the one that I shared with my children. They were my best teachers in so many ways. It is through teaching my own children that I developed a deeper-than-ever love of learning and teaching. :) More importantly, it is also through raising my children that I learned about and gained an understanding of unconditional love.

I tutored international college students in conversational American English in both class and lab settings.
