About

After 10+ years as a student and a teacher, I know that a teacher can never be "done" learning and should never forget what it means to be a student. Working with students is hands down the best part about being a teacher and I have learned more about myself from students than any course could hope to teach me. I have over eight years of experience teaching English literature, Corporate English and English as a second language. I have also been a supervisor and trainer for teachers-in-training, which I particularly enjoyed. I am a postgraduate research student at ARU and a teacher of English and Dutch. I am particularly interested in 19th century fiction, gothic fiction, and notions of sexuality and gender as it pertains to literature. I have also developed a strong interest in Young Adult literature. I would describe myself as compassionate, creative, curious, open-minded and determined
