About

I'm a Data Science M.S. at American University specializing in NLP, machine learning, and large-scale data systems. I'm drawn to problems where language, ethics, and data intersect, and I care about building AI that is not just accurate, but interpretable and responsible. My recent work reflects this focus. I built a multi-dimensional ethical analysis pipeline for AI-generated fake news combining a DistilBERT-based ethics classifier, a HateXplain toxicity model, and UNESCO AI Ethics principle mapping via sentence embeddings to surface not just what is harmful, but why. On the data engineering side, I've processed 445GB+ of Reddit data using Spark on AWS to study how online communities responded to the rise of generative AI in real time. Beyond research, I've applied these skills in industry: at Ciena, I extracted and analyzed access control data across 20+ internal systems, built Power BI dashboards for internal audit monitoring, and identified security risks through structured data joins and anomaly filtering. I'm actively seeking full-time roles in NLP Engineering, ML Engineering, or Applied AI particularly at organizations working on language models, responsible AI, or large-scale data systems.
